After a solid 2-3 months of holiday parties, delicious food and a glass of wine or two or six, not only did our waistline take a hit but so did our skin (yikes!). Does your skin look dull?A zit or two peering through? Not to fear, Sonia is here! I have a few skincare tips and products that I use to help me bounce back from this.
This is by far my favorite detox mask! I use it twice a week to remove toxins from my skin. You see results almost instantly. After washing it off your face feels a little warm and flushed and that’s only because it’s improving circulation. The great thing about this product is that it can also be used on the body too. I recently switched to a more natural deodorant (I will discuss this more in detail on another post) and used this to detox my armpits. You would of been shocked on all the gunk that came out! (super gross). You are welcome to use it as directed on the box, or try my quick recipe for optimal detoxing:
- 1 tbsp healing clay
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon water
Mix this together with a plastic utensil and it should create a paste like consistency. Once you’re done with your mask, make sure to moisturize!
I use this hydrating rose mask immediately after the healing clay mask. It’s definitely the best time to use it as your face is in dire need of moisture. What I love about this mask is the gel consistency which makes it easy to blend and the smell. Oh the aroma is intoxicating! It makes me feel like I am at a spa or something. I apply this to my face for about 10 minutes, wash it off and continue with my normal skincare routine. Here’s the great thing about this hydrating mask, it does more than just moisturize it repairs your skin by treating fine lines and wrinkles and regenerating your skin. Your skin feels so soft and plush, it’s just great.
After your detox and hydrating mask, it’s time for your skincare routine. My go-to moisturizer for my face and body is Rose Hip oil. There are many benefits of using oil vs creams (I’ll go more into details on this to on another post). I like this oil because it is jam packed with essential vitamins that help heal the skin and provide the adequate amount of moisture. Another plus is that it dispenses from a dropper so you can use the oil without contaminating the bottle.
The final and most crucial step to maintaining healthy skin, sunscreen! The sun is the number one culprit to aging skin. Those strong rays can cause premature aging leading to saggy, wrinkly skin in the future.
I like to rotate my sunscreens throughout the year but so far this is the one I’ve been sticking with. You get your money’s worth with this one. It provides UV A and UV B protection along with an ample amount of SPF. I am all about products doing more than what they say. This is also slightly tinted to give you a healthy glow.
Give these a try and let me know your thoughts!
