There are many powders on the market that have various formulas but all do the same thing — set your make-up. With over 15 years of make-up experience and testing out products that I felt fit my needs as well as my clients, I have narrowed down to a few that I find work the best on every skin type; including my favorite:
Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder
I am sure most of you have used this product for several years because Mario used it on Kim K. Am I right?! Right. To be honest, this is a great powder. It’s finely milled and sets easily without creasing up. And the biggest plus, it’s price point and the amount of product you receive. This thing lasts forever!
Price: $13.50 for 3 FL. oz.
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
Another cult favorite for all the beauty lovers out there. This hands down is an excellent powder. It’s finely milled, doesn’t cast a white shadow on your face, mattifies your skin and lasts for a long time. I don’t think I had any issues with this powder. The only thing is, compared to the Ben Nye Banana powder, you are paying almost triple for only 1 oz of product. Nevertheless, it’s still an excellent product that is easy to use without the mess.
Price: $38 for 1 FL oz.
Cover FX Perfect Setting Powder
Okay, I’ve just finished discussing two of the most popular and most used setting powders out there, however, I feel like this Cover FX powder doesn’t get enough recognition. I’ve recently switched over to this powder for a few reasons:
- It’s talc free! – a huge plus
- Fragrance free
- Vegan and Gluten Free
Pro Tip: Be sure to moisturize your skin and under eyes before applying powder or the product will seep into fine lines and wrinkles. Also, stay hydrated! Dehydration can also come from within.
